Cover Art
Social Text 94 features the artwork of Jenny Perlin on the cover and also in an interior dossier, which reproduces the 10 watercolor drawings on paper and vellum that make up her series Addendum (2007). Our cover image, Red Phone, is the opening drawing in the series.
Red Phone can be viewed here, along with a description of the series Addendum by Susette Min, drawn from Social Text 94.
Access Min’s full text “Tonal Disturbances: Works on Paper by Jenny Perlin and Visible Collective,” including reproductions of Perlin’s series Addendum here, from Duke University Press.
New Drawings
Perlin’s new work is currently on display at the Mireille Mosler Ltd. gallery in New York City (March 26 through May 31, 2008). The exhibition title, Sequence, is also the title of an installation of 160 monochrome drawings of ink on vellum on view at the gallery. In addition, the gallery is showing Perlin’s project titled Flight, a 5-minute animation on 16-millimeter film that shows Perlin redrawing 18 receipts collected during airport travel.
